Storm damage inside? We dry the structure and repair where the rain got in.
Storm Damage We Repair
We repair the roof, window, door or wall the storm got through, then restore the damage it left inside. Wind pushes rain into frames, jambs and stucco cracks that a light shower never reaches, and the water can run along framing before it shows. The stain you see is often a long way from the entry point.
Roofs
Storm water usually gets in through the roof first. Wind lifts shingles and tiles, and heavy rain overwhelms worn flashing at chimneys, vents and skylights. Our roof leak repair work fixes those entry points, so the ceiling we dried stays dry.
Windows and Doors
Wind-driven rain exposes failed window flashing that ordinary rain never tests. Our window leak repair service corrects the flashing and seals behind the trim, not just the caulk you can see.
Stucco and Exterior Walls
Stucco soaks up water, and cracks let in more, until it reaches the building paper and framing behind. Our wall leak repair work traces that path and closes the gap.
Water Under Doors and Against Foundations
Rain that pools against a foundation or runs in under a door calls for flood damage restoration, because it rises from the ground and carries soil with it.
Signs of Storm Damage Inside Your Home
The first sign of storm damage is usually a new stain or drip after rain. Watch for:
- Brown or yellow stains on the ceiling after rain
- Water at the top corners of a window or along a door frame
- Damp baseboards or swollen trim under a stucco wall
- A musty smell in a room that was dry before the storm
- A stain that grows a little with each storm
A leak that only shows up in heavy, wind-driven rain still means water is getting into the wall or roof. It’s just waiting for the right storm.
Stains after rain mean water is still getting in. Book storm damage restoration today.
Our Storm Damage Restoration Process
We trace the leak, dry the structure, then repair the outside and the inside. How long it takes depends on how wet the building got and how much exterior repair it needs. We track moisture readings through drying and tell you when repairs can start.
1. Emergency Call
Call (310) 678-4345 and tell us where you see water. Until we arrive, stay clear of sagging ceilings and wet outlets, put buckets under active drips and photograph the damage.
2. Inspection and Leak Tracing
We measure moisture in ceilings, walls and floors, then follow the water back to where it entered. Our water leak detection methods, including thermal imaging, are non-invasive, so we don’t open walls just to look.
3. Water Removal and Drying
We remove standing water and materials that can’t be dried, like soaked insulation or sagging ceiling drywall, then dry the structure to normal moisture levels. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency advises drying water-damaged materials within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth.
4. Exterior Repair
We repair the roof, window, door or wall opening the storm came through. This step decides whether the same stain comes back next winter.
5. Interior Repairs
We rebuild the inside last: drywall, insulation, paint and flooring.
How Much Does Storm Damage Restoration Cost?
Storm damage restoration is priced by the scope of the job, in a written estimate after an inspection that costs $375 to $775. The price depends on how much of the interior got wet and what the roof, window or wall repair takes.
| Service | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Inspection | $375 to $575 | About 15 to 20 minutes with an infrared camera |
| Detailed Inspection | $575 to $775 | Up to about 1 hour for one household or unit up to 3,000 sq. ft. |
| Water Intrusion Testing | $1,275 to $1,850+ | When an entry point needs a water test |
| Exterior repair (weatherproofing or waterproofing) | $2,275 to $2,600 | For a small project (up to 3,000 sq. ft.) or $3,000 to $10,000 for a medium one (3,000 to 10,000 sq. ft.) |
Water testing isn’t included in inspection prices. When we do the work, the fee for a Basic or Detailed Inspection is credited toward the cost of the work. Multi-Unit / Larger Property Inspection fees and water testing fees are not credited.
Many homeowners policies cover sudden wind and rain damage, but rain through a storm-damaged roof is often treated differently from rain through old, worn flashing. Our water damage insurance claims support records the cause for your adjuster.

Storm Damage Restoration FAQs
How can I prevent storm damage before the rainy season?
Check roof flashing, gutters, window seals and stucco cracks before the first big storm. Small gaps are easier to fix while it’s dry. Our guide on why pre-storm water mitigation matters walks through what to check.
Is a roof leak during a storm an emergency?
It is when water is dripping near a light fixture or wiring, or when the ceiling is sagging. Stay out of that room and call. A small stain that isn’t growing can wait for an inspection, but it shouldn’t wait for the next storm.
Do you repair storm damage on commercial buildings?
Yes. We handle storm damage cleanup and repair in apartment buildings, condos and offices, tracing leaks across units and floors and keeping a written record for owners, boards and insurers.
Can I send photos of a storm leak?
Yes. Email them to info@leakmoldrepair.com with your name, the property address and a short description. Photos taken while the leak is active help most. We’ll review them and reply with our initial assessment.
